DESIGNATING PAYLOAD BYRNA MAGAZINES

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

USING THE MAGAZINE BASE TO DESIGNATE PAYLOAD:

Byrna launcher Kits containing chemical irritant projectiles include optional magazine base plates which feature 2 orange colored indicators. This allows a user to differentiate chemical irritant projectiles from other projectiles.

STEP 1 Make sure to wear appropriate eye protection. Make sure the magazine is unloaded correctly.

STEP 2 Align a baseplate indicator with the tabs.

STEP 3 Insert the baseplate indicator into the tabs.

STEP 4 Slowly slide the baseplate off as shown. Take care to retain the installed indicator which is under spring pressure.

STEP 5 Install the new baseplate indicator of your choice and slide the base plate into position.

It's a good idea to indicate which magazine has the pepper balls or max projectiles. However, there is no reason why you can't mix projectiles in the same magazine. For example, you could put three kinetic and two pepper balls in the same magazine, so always know what is loaded before you shoot.
